This is a particularly nice print ad I created for Georgetown Music, a cool guitar shop in Seattle. I did it in trade for a cello! Now I have to learn how to play a cello!!!
Mash-ups are the thing, right? How about a Penguin of Madagascar/Edgar Rice Burroughs mash-up? AWESOME! I know! Right?
I haven’t shown anybody what I’ve been working on, (and that’s because it’s TOP SECRET!) but I have been drawing a lot this week. Those of you who do know what I’ve been doing might be amused by this little diversion. I think it’s adorable!
A commission I did for the National Tow Truck Museum and Hall of Fame. Tow truck drivers love Mater, so you know! So I drew Mater hanging out with a couple of historic Tow Trucks. The one on the left is a Holmes Wrecker. Seriously, that’s what it’s called. Holmes Wrecker. Turns out the first tow truck was made in 1916 by a guy named Ernest Holmes in Chattanooga, Tennessee. For real. Holmes Wrecker. I can’t get over it.
Character designs for the I’ve Got a Goat video that Kevin Hyatt, Gino Scarpino and I worked on for the Seattle kindie-rock band “The Not-It’s”
As long as I’m posting animation-related work, I’d like to show some of the work I did for the Not-It’s “I’ve Got A Goat” video. I posted a link to the video in a previous post, and I hope you do watch it because it’s a very catchy kindie-rock tune and I’m proud of the work Gino, Kevin and I did on it. I thought I’d share some of my production art on that video. Here are a couple of the backgrounds I made for it. I really tried to keep it clean and simple, and to give the animator (Kevin) and broad and easy to navigate an environment as I could.
Fact is, this backyard setting is based on my sister-in-law’s back yard. Yes, my sister-in-law has a bathtub outside next to a big blue garage/barn building. No she does not have a goat. She has chickens.
